Cancelled: Worship Night

March 15th One Chapel/Austin Cathedral Worship Night has been Cancelled.

After conferring with one another to assess the current situation, Pastor Hart and Pastor Ross Parsley of One Chapel have agreed together to cancel the joined worship service scheduled for this Sunday, March 15th , at Austin Cathedral.

In an email to the One Chapel churches, Pastor Ross wrote:

“As a pastor, I am committed to doing my best to protect the spiritual, emotional, and physical health of everyone in our church. Our ALL CHURCH WORSHIP NIGHT means FIVE CHURCHES (Austin, Kyle, Lake Travis, Liberty HIll, and Austin Cathedral) gathering together in one place for the first time ever! We were projecting this to be 2-3 times the size of a normal Sunday service. We don’t have to cancel this service, but out of an abundance of caution, we have decided this is an extra and unnecessary risk at this time. It’s kind of disappointing, but I want you to know I’m in this for the long term. So, don’t worry, we will have many other future worship nights where we will gather to pray and celebrate.”

It is possible that the worship night will be rescheduled, potentially for the evening of March 29, but that will be decided as we get closer to the date.

At Austin Cathedral, we will continue our regular Sunday morning service at 10:30am.

The Apostle Paul reminds us in 2 Timothy 1:7, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” As we move forward in this time of concerns about sickness, take this Word to heart: Pray for others; reach out with the love of the Father to meet needs and bring comfort; and receive the Spirit of Peace and the Oil of Joy, so that you can be an instrument of blessing for God.
